The Voice Lab needs your microphone to measure pitch in real time. Your browser will ask for permission — that's the browser doing its job, and here's ours: audio is analyzed live in memory and never recorded, stored, or transmitted. Close the tab and it's gone.
Microphone permission was blocked — no worries, it's reversible:
- Chrome / Edge: click the 🔒 (or tuning-slider) icon left of the address bar → Site settings → set Microphone to Allow
- Firefox: same 🔒 icon → clear the Microphone permission, then reload
- Safari: Safari menu → Settings for This Website… → Microphone → Allow

Pitch is only half of voice training — once you're comfortable holding this band,
start working on resonance (where the sound "rings": chest vs. head) and
intonation patterns. This tool gives you honest numbers for the first part;
the other two are practice, patience, and being kind to your throat.
